Updates and intel from my latest trips through Florence, Sicily (Palermo, Pantelleria & Salina), the Roman coast—plus my Rome Short List

Over the last month, I’ve zig-zagged across more than a bit of this country: Florence, the Roman Coast, Palermo, Pantelleria, Salina, and of course, Rome. I know we’ve done a lot of Italy content here this summer, but given that this is the country of choice for many of you, I’ll keep going! This is also the last post from me and my incredible Yolo team (Alex Postman, Linda Denahan, Carly Shea) until Saturday Sept 9. From July 22 until then, we will be returning to our Postcards series, where our friends and contributors share their favorites from the road. This gives us time to shut down a bit, be in the moment (my daughter has challenged me to not bring my laptop on our trip to Greece in August and I plan to accept that challenge!), and not be constantly on high work alert.
