Last February we got a pied-a-terre just off Lexington in the 70s, and we couldn’t be happier to have a foothold in the city again. It’s the first time that my husband and I have ever lived uptown—previously, we only came up here regularly to see our beloved chiropractor, or for the occasional doctor visit. Once we were settled, our friends who live here sent us their neighborhood favorites, almost like a modern version of a welcome pie, which included everything from where to buy cheese to where to drop off your shirts. With the reopening of the Frick—and because everyone who visits the city comes up here for the Met—I get asked a lot about where else to go, especially where to eat! So I figured I’d put together all of my notes/Google pins that I’ve been saving—from my own discoveries to the suggestions of my local friends—so I have a thorough-ish list! I’m so happy to now have everything in one place—I hope this is helpful!—and please share your favorites in the comments.
