If you had one quintessential, smaller city/town/village that you could spent the day in (maybe even the night) and get there via train from Paris, what would it be? My son (almost 17) and I will have one free day and I want him somewhere that breathes local France. Thank you!

Roadtripping from Cannes to Portofino (Splendido Mare) Need somewhere to stay in between for 2 nights, not as expensive as splendido maybe something small and charming in a small coastal town. Could be France or Italy just somewhere in between.

Staying in a villa rental for a week in St. Remy de Provence- two families (5 well traveled kids ranging from 9 to 16). Any great shops or market reccs, or must-sees that are off the beaten path within say, a 2 hour drive? Also, LOVE this newsletter so much. I used to love the Sunday Times travel magazine (RIP) when we lived in London for my insider info- now I use this!!! Always excited to read it when it comes out. Thanks for doing it❤️

Same here! Will be in an AirBNB villa for a week with 4 intrepid children ages 3 months to 9 years. Looking for kid-welcoming (but not kid-centric) ideas for dining experiences, day-trips to neighboring villages, hikes, and markets. Also especially enjoy off-the-beaten path.

Going to South of France for 3 night excursion and want the quintessential experience- what itinerary do you recommend with Menerbes as a home base? Traveling with kids (9 & 11) but sophisticated travelers and just want it to be relaxing.

I am also interested to know the feedback on 'where to go near Paris). I'll be in Paris and concerned about entry to other countries (CoVid) since it's just a weekend jaunt...

Also after the flea market, antique shop list! But as I am in the interiors business and always trying to find something unusual and special I am wondering if you have any thoughts on how to find a person who can help you go deeper with this. Someone who acts as a liaison to the sellers who maybe go straight to trade, help set up a container etc and so on. Looking to buy in the area but not sure where to start. Many thanks!!

Is the Mediterranean the best place for a French beach vacation? What might be some other not to be missed coastal destinations (not in the South)?

The South of France on the Mediterranean Sea is a long stretch, and I believe the Côte d'Azur is just the Southeast part - what are the not to miss and maybe less touristy destinations/hotels/food/shopping on the Mediterranean beyond the Côte d'Azur?

Recently we stopped in Valence to eat at Maison Pic (we stopped en route between Lyon and Avignon) which was a unique and incredible experience - originally we could not get in but there was a cancellation. We ended this trip in Nice, which in February was quiet but the crowds would be crazy in a warmer season for sure. What are quieter destinations with nice beaches in the Côte d'Azur, and if looking for three stops what would be a recommended Côte d'Azur itinerary

Corsica please! Planning a trip for summer 2023 for myself and my husband, who has never been to France, and we are thinking of splitting time between Paris with some day trips and/or maybe an overnight or two to nearby areas we can access by train (also would love recommendations for this) and Corsica. I've found resources for information on Corsica more sparse compared to many other destinations and would love any suggestions for where to base ourselves on the island, beaches, visiting wineries... anything really. Thank you!
