Ugh it’s so annoying to have left but also fallen back in love with NYC. Happened to me too … luckily I get to go again this week. 2x this quarter I’m chuffed!!!
This was timely since I have an active Substack but am about to enlist a traditional email subscription plan again for art sales. I do wish substack had more design features - and yes, I agree it is tough to search. I found that when I was trying to search through Victoria Smith's substack. Ce la vie-we have to be in many places and have many skills at once.
You're surely right about how nearly impossible it is to be spontaneous in NYC, especially with dinners and get-togethers. People in Paris or Florence (cities that I visit a few times a year) are as busy, and somehow they make it possible without ridiculous months-ahead planning. That said, I'm glad to hear about this re-found love.
Ciao Yolanda, I just got back home from the City too and even if I can endessly complain about it, I resonate it’s frequency and I will be forever in love with New York. Isn’t it that kind of relationships you have with a real lover? I see you from time to time around Via di Monserrato bc that’s where I live and I’m wondering why you ended up choosing Rome over the city of lights. Being Roman I have this codependency for great beauty and it may be contagious, but sometimes is not enough, but then overwhelming and great again…
If I can tempt you further, I know of a lovely pied-a-terre in Paris very close to the original Craven. It is a 2 bedroom and fully furnished right on the edge of the lovely village of Auteuil. If you want the information, let me know.
Glad for you. I used to go to NYC to visit friends, however now I dislike NYC and fear traveling there. When crime goes down and law enforcement is once again allowed to do their job, I may return. For now, no thanks.
So happy Yolo is back on Substack!!
