+ 1 for more “costa meno”. There’s a glut of content around five-star destinations but very little about amazing, well-designed places that are accessible.
So glad to see you back here! There’s something about Substack that just feels like a good old dinner party with friends—more than an archive, it’s where the energy lives. I’ve missed these dispatches: the packing rituals, the hotel rabbit holes, the “what’s in your carry-on” obsessions. Also deeply here for the ‘library vs café’ metaphor—absolutely perfect.
Club Yolo feels like the right move. Feels loose, conversational, vibrant. If I can vote for one thing I’d love to see more of: behind-the-scenes from moodboard to trip. Like how a restaurant or hotel or color palette sparked a whole travel idea. And maybe a few “what’s in my bag right now” quick peeks from the team? (Tote voyeurs, unite.)
Thanks for bringing the spark back to the inbox. Let’s go. ✈️
I often wondered why you left Substack after working so hard to build a huge following and community, but as someone who works professionally in digital media and all things internet, I understand why an outside website is beneficial -- though Google continues to screw everything up and take away traffic we count on. Anyways.
Your strategy is a great one and something I'm considering for our own magazine venture. Having an external website for certain features is great but it's very hard to build a community there without the right tools. Not to mention it's hard to get people to migrate from platforms they use everyday!
I look forward to reading and learning more from you.
Lunching at Wayfare Tavern per the San Fran Blackbook recommendations!
I’ve missed you on Substack! I like having my reads in one place
Hi! Great idea 👏🏻 I would like more “costa meno”. Thanks ❤️

Heading to Santa Barbara for the holiday. Pray we are not followed by the bomb cyclone whirling around NorCal right now.
Welcome back!
i was indeed the preferred grandchild. (where's the halo emoji?)
Bro you were INDEED 😬😘
OK, Club Yolo needs to launch a series of pop-up, super-cool, all-inclusive experiences around the world we can all buy into!
Love it! I've missed your Substack and *just* said last week, I hope it comes back at some point!
Love the Club Yolo!💕✨
Laughed outloud at your fomo comment. For sure, Greece was more your style by far!!!
So excited about this!! 😍
I subscribe to Yolo Journal and I'm trying to upgrade from free to paid for Club Yolo, but Substack keeps denying me :( Any suggestions?
