Hi there Yolanda! I love reading about all of your adventures! My husband, 8 y/o son and I will be going to Italy in June, first to Rome and then to the Amalfi Coast (probably Sorrento). Any intel re: off-the-beaten path type stuff, and also, anything that might be of special interest to an 8 y/o boy (hopefully he will be in awe of the Coliseum, but he is not a museum-goer!!)

My hubby and I are going to Dubrovnik for a wedding late June and wanted to get to Italy (neither of us have been) for about 6 days after the wedding. There are so many areas I want to see, but with such little time, where would you go? We love to walk and explore and adore eating amazing food!

Yolanda

Love your newsletter and inspiring info!

We are going back to Venice after a long hiatus. Are there some amazing guides you might recommend for deep history delve? And food recommendations, my list from Chez P is very outdated…I know there is an insider experience to Venice and would love to experience it!

Thanks, Seen Lippert

hi, YE! I’m taking my 15 y.o. daughter (another Clara!) to Italy in June. It will be her first time in Europe, and my first time back since I was 19 and studied in Florence. Our plan is Rome, Tuscany and some coast. I don’t think I have the stomach to drive so we will use car services and taxis. would love your must-see and do list in those places! We have 10 days. Xoxo

Hi Yolanda - My 19 year old daughter and I are planning on visiting Italy this summer (mid July to early August) and wanted to visit an island. Although Capri is beautiful (I've only had day trips there), I wanted to ask which other islands you would recommend. We both love beaches and strolling through towns. And I prefer if I didn't have to rent a car while on the island. The plan would be to stay on the island for up to a week. If you have a top pick for an island, would love to know where would be the best place to stay (i.e. which city/town). Thank you!!

When returning to US from UK or EU I believe one needs a negative pcr test regardless of vaccination status. Is this correct and do you have to buy test in UK or EU? Is it difficult to organize this as the test must be with 24 hrs of departure.

Hi Yolanda - Two questions here on Italy:

1. I've heard wonderful things about Abruzzo, which I think was featured in an early YOLO Journal. Casadonna Reale is on my radar, but I'd like to make this a bigger trip to see the surrounding regions. What are spots in Abruzzo, Le Marche, and Molise that should be on my radar?

2. Sicily has long been on my list. Between the Aeolian islands and Sicily itself, what would you recommend for a first timer to get a taste of such a rich region in two weeks or so? If you were spending a week on one Aeolian island, which would you prioritize?

Florence. How to spend two weeks in Florence. Where to stay, where to eat. Hidden art anywhere? And Rome. The same. Love to be where the locals are. Best off season timeframe in the Fall. Thank you!!!!!
